Well, I thought the multi-coloured Olympians that were quite suddenly re-introduced into normal service deserved their own collection, certainly as they have provided plenty of entertainment and photographic oppurtunity over the last few months!

87002 was used on the Electric Scot Tribute tour on 15th October 2008. Despite being on a Wednesday there was a good turnout and was a successful tour despite 87002 failing on the return journey.

Johnson's Bristol VR Running Day on 6th September 2008. In use were RWT 527R, HTU 159N, ODL 661R, MIW 2422 and NGM 168G. The tour included Mansfield Woodhouse depot/body shop, Worksop Station, Hodthorpe depot, McEwens of Mansfield's garage and Tuxford.

Cardiff Bus said farwell to their Volvo Ailsa buses on Saturday 15th December 2007, with two buses, Northern Counties bodied 408, NDW 408X and 436, A436 VNY duplicating a number of routes around Cardiff. The Volvo Ailsa was the longest serving type of Double Deck bus in Cardiff, operating from 1982 to 2007, a whopping 25 years.

There was a good turnout considering the last minute nature of the event and with the size of the 'normal' buses on the routes, the Ailsas ended up picking up quite a few 'normal' passengers!

Chase Coaches (Chase Bus Services) held a final day for their Leyland National Buses on 28th April 2007.

The last day consisted of a tour of Chase's routes, the normal service buses being duplicated by two buses, No42, THX 193S and No62, BYW 366V. Also, the buses visited both Chase's depot and Arriva's Cannock, Delta Way depot. All other services operated as normal.

First held a farewell last day for their Bristol VR's in the Devon and Cornwall fleet. The buses started life with Western National, the first example starting in 1969. The buses on the last day were in use on route 1 (Penzance - Lands End), route 2 (Penzance - Helston) and route 17 (Penzance - St Ives).

The last day of First Sheffield Dennis Dominators on 25th June 2006.

On 27th March 2004 Stagecoach Warwickshire held a farewell for their last Leyland National 25402, NOE 602R. The tour took in Coventry, Leamington, Rugby and Nuneaton, with Leyland Olympian A543 HAC duplicating part of the tour.
