| One of the Leyland Nationals that were bought by London Transport. Sadly The Leyland National has become a rare sight.
The Dennis Dart might be its modern equivalent, but I am certain it won't be around after 30 years service.
I gather some Dennis Darts are being scrapped when they are not even 10 years old,it must be because they are so cheap and lightweight!
Are there any operators left with Leyland Nationals,I would like to know if possible! |

| This is what i said on Tony Hunters Site, but i'll paste here too:
Its interesting how this bus is nearly always on the 655 service driven by the same few drivers as its always been driven by. There are days when its not on the 655 and its else where and i suspect its been trapped in the paintshop but no, this bus seems to have dodged the paintshop. I wonder if this bus will ever get diamond livery?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spoke to the Driver of this bus P101 HCH. He Informed me that its currently not in service as the engine has cracked in it by the dip stck as it had been over heating for years and engineers hadnt been able to fix it properly. It needs £5,000 to put it right, but diamond are not going to fix it as the route it ran 655 is no longer being run by diamond from either october or november. I do wonder if Travel A2Z will run the 655 as Travel A2Z picked up the 360 route that Arriva scrapped not long after getting it off Chase bus Services.

| The Optare Solo has become a favorite of mine.I think the design is a natural progression from The Metro-Rider.
I like the way these buses have a big feel and yet they are so practical. It won some award of some sort I believe!
I found that when I sprained my ankle these were so much easier to use than the stepped buses in Reading.
Sadly these buses are slowly being sold-off by Reading buses. I was glad to see the old step entrance buses go,but I will be sad to see the lovely little Optare Solos go from my town! |

| Tom, an excellent collection of photos here! Just one minor point is that this bus is ex-Lincolnshire RoadCar 1943, and not ex-Lincoln City Transport. By 1979-80 City had moved onto purchasing East Lancashire bodied Bristol VRs, having previously purchased some high-bridge ECW bodied vehicles. Confusion arises because City later ordered some Olympians which were registered KTL43-5Y, in keeping with most vehicles in the fleet which contained the fleetnumber in the registration. |

| I saw 153329 attached to 158748 at Cardiff Central yesterday, which was quite surprising. Both of these are rare, especially at Cardiff Central, so to see them attached was even rarer. You don't see many two-car units, only three-car units on the Cardiff Central - Portsmouth Harbour services. These two units had just worked the 15:07 service from Taunton, arriving at 17:17, which is usually operated by a Class 143 or 150. |
